Smith Insurance Agency
Smith Insurance Agency is a family-owned independent agency in Thousand Oaks, California. People shopping for insurance start on Google, and the agency had no website, no domain, and no social accounts. The only trace of it online was some unclaimed review profiles on Yelp and Google.

Starting from zero
Before building anything, I audited how the agency showed up online. The answer was barely at all: no website, no domain, no social media, just unclaimed review profiles on Yelp and Google that the agency didn’t control. Anyone searching for a local insurance agent had nowhere to land. For an agency that lives on new policies, that’s money walking past the door.
A site built to turn searches into quotes
- A page for every line of coverage. Auto, home, life, business, commercial, general liability, and personal insurance each get their own page. Every one is a separate front door from Google for someone searching for exactly that coverage.
- A quote button everywhere. Every page ends with a clear way to request a quote, so a visitor who’s ready never has to hunt for the next step.
- Tap to call. The agency’s phone number is one tap away on every phone.
- Trust on display. Reviews, carrier partners, and the family story are front and center, because insurance is a trust purchase.
- A blog that answers real customer questions and gives Google fresh reasons to send people to the site.
- The fine print, handled. Full SEO, the behind-the-scenes markup that tells Google this is an insurance agency and what it offers, and a privacy policy.
Beyond the website
- Business email at the agency’s own domain
- Logo concepts for a refreshed look
- New Facebook and Instagram pages
Why it pays off
Independent agents earn on every policy they write, and most policies start with a search. The agency went from having no website at all to having a page ready for every kind of coverage people look for, each one ending in a quote request. On Seobility, an independent site-scoring tool, the agency now scores 87%, up from nothing at all.
